Îmi place foarte mult această pipă. Deocamdată nu am utilizat-o cu alte "ierburi" decât cu frunze de Rozmarin (poate prea aromate, dar bune ca stimulent al activității cerebrale). Neplacându-mi ceaiurile, prefer să fumez plantele cu efecte terapeutice, mai ales că anumite substanțe sunt mai eficient absorbite în organism prin mucoasa bucală, pulmonară, stomacală etc. din fum decât atunci când sunt fierte în apă. (Desigur că fumatul de orice fel implică și anumite riscuri puse în evidență statistic, dar aceasta este altă discuție…). Dimensiunea și forma alungită, subțire și rigidă a frunzelor de Rozmarin (sau echivalente conform acestor criterii) este incompatibilă cu utilizarea lor în majoritatea pipelor.
Această pipă de formă semisferică (cu "adâncime" mai redusă decât a unei pipe standard și "lățime" aproape identică) este ideală pentru frunze cu această formă, pentru muguri etc., adică fără a restricționa umplerea bolului pipei cu ele și fără a împiedica arderea lor corespunzătoare.
Forma ușor plată a "fundului" pipei oferă suficientă stabilitate pe o suprafață plană (deci este oarecum hands-free), iar gaura laterală (kickhole) este ideală pentru menținerea unui "volum" optim de fum, fie prin astuparea, fie prin eliberarea găurii în timp ce se ține pipa în gură și se respiră normal (fără a inhala mai puternic sau mai frecvent/ rar decât normal).
Pentru utilizarea în condiții optime este necesar un tamper (futac) și/ cu poker care să preseze/separe conținutul supus arderii, după nevoie.
Pipa mă astept să fie relativ ușor de curățat cu instrumente dedicate (inclusiv sticlă cu alcool izopropilic sau măcar apă).
